One of Lucky’s favorite places to sneak off to is the stairwell at the west side of the building. It is painted all white and the natural light that comes in is just exquisite. I quite love shooting in there too. I put on another of Rachel’s (https://www.facebook.com/pages/Posh-Fairytale-Couture/346945775325021) creations and decided to throw in this colorful umbrella for good measure! woot woot! It’s Thursday. Is there a better reason to dress like a unicorn? I dare say there is not. I can’t tell you how hard it was to narrow down these images, they were all divine. I mean really, bubbly pink and obnoxious blue combined with a unicorn mohawk? There are few greater combinations on earth. I want to thank beautiful Rachel Sigmon of Posh Fairy Tale Couture ( Posh Fairy Tale Couture on Facebook) for sending this super girly bustier for me to shoot in, I could not think of more appropriate unicorn attire. I have been hoping for the perfect ensemble to shoot with her creation and finally today I had my chance. The range of her creations from avant garde to campy to whimsical to glamorous is endlessly impressive to me. Secondly I want to thank SugarPill Make-up for the delectable collection of colorful shadows which they so kindly provided for the shoot. I fricken love their delicious rainbow assortment of vibrant makeups and super drag-tastic lashes. When I was growing up I always wished there were electric colors with which to paint my face and when I first came across their amazing palette I just about peed myself with happiness. My inner child can now sleep tight. - Sylva
Day #140
Lucky and I have had a hard time meeting up this past month, as I mentioned before. I was excited for his visit and to get some creative juices flowing between us once again (no pun intended mwahahah). The day was a bit of a challenge, it seemed impossible to get started shooting. From appointments at the studio to emotional challenges and family “stuff”, it seemed like the world was against us juuuust a tiny bit. We finally pulled it together and got through the slight obstacle course and took some super cute photos. I have been hoarding a bunch of awesome wardrobe from Rachel of Posh Fairy Tale Couture for quite some time now! It’s all delicious and girly and I was so so so excited to finally break it out for a shoot.

Ouch! I shot Sylva for a few hours today. It’s actually the first time I’ve done any real shooting since day #102 over a month ago. I forgot what a workout it can be. My arms are sore from holding up that stupid big camera and my legs are sore from half squatting for so long to keep the angles I wanted. It also didn’t help that it felt like it was about 120 degrees today!
All that aside, it was really fucking awesome to hang out and shoot with my favorite exhibitionist again;) - Lucky

I feel an overwhelming sense of glee and appreciation when I think about Rachel of Posh Fairy Tale Couture ( http://www.etsy.com/shop/PoshFairytaleCouture). She has been so so super generous with loaning me amazing stuff to shoot for this project! This cute ass, sexy, elegant bra and panty set is among my favorite of the goods she has sent my way. I love the tasseled beading that hangs down the front and the polka dots and the cute sequined flower between the boobies! Thank you so so so much beautiful woman! I can’t believe it is only a few weeks till I get to meet Rachel on her visit here to California!

There is so much good stuff going on in this image, it makes me go **meep**. First, in the clothed shot I am holding a glass AK 47, which originally came filled with vodka. The brand, Kalashnikov. My mother went to Russia a few years back and I told her that was the souvenir of my dreams, so she brought it home for me! I have kept it and used it in a few shoots throughout the years :-) Secondly, in the “nude” image, is an amazing Pinata made by artist Tom of Tom’s Dead Stuff (http://www.etsy.com/shop/tomdeadstuff). I met him a while back when I went to Phoenix to vend at their artwalk event. It was one of my many adventures with Marco who is the creator of FLow Ninja Leather goods (https://www.facebook.com/FlowNinjaLeather), with whom I am preparing to go to Lightning in a Bottle next week to sell my hats, his leather goods, and our leather/ feather hat collaborations! I am so so excited! Lastly, you cannot miss this amazing dress. It is no photoshop illusion, but an actually super long dress created by Rachel of Posh Fairy Tale Couture (Posh Fairytale Couture), which she was gracious enough to ship to me all the way from Alaska just to use for this project! It is always inspiring to wear her over the top creations and this one was no different. Anything I can incorporate into my American obsession makes me extra super happy!

Yellow and pink is a color palette that definitely speaks to me, I feel it is circus-y and childish and rambunctious and sexy. I was excited to realize I had a set of Minnie Mouse ears to match, which are in my etsy shoppe! (http://www.BubblesAndFrown.etys.com). I am so so exhausted right now, so pardon my off kilter approach to language. Good night! Lucky and I just got done shooting a few photos to post this weekend as I will be out of town at a fire infested nature-y yoga retreat mystical magical birthday party in the desert! APRIL FOOLS! I am so so sorry! We could not resist the chance to fuck with you all! First of all, Lucky and I never fight. We have a super wonderful balance at home and he is one of the easiest people I have ever had the pleasure to reside with! Vague annoyances are about as bad as it gets up in this house :-) Secondly, you will learn, I am very “stubborn”. That’s what some people say. I like to use words like “motivated”, “driven” and “inspired”. I truly get joy out of setting goals for myself and achieving them. It’s one of the ways I create structure in my otherwise unstructured life. So if I say I am going to take my clothes off every day for the next year, you better damned well believe it’s gonna happen! However I do appreciate the sweet messages I have gotten since we “admitted defeat”… a lot of folks said they were sad but supported our being happy at home, and I think that’s really awesome! It is good to know that you have me n Lucky’s friendship in mind! So thanks a bunch for that! The theme of our shoot today is “We’re not pussies! Meow purrrr purrr purrrr!” I may dress up as a cat creature and pour milk on my tata’s, and I may meow and hiss, and I may have a sweet kitty between my legs, but that’s as far as the pussy in me goes. I like to think I have balls of steel. We are definitely, without a doubt, seeing this project through!

I saw it in her shoppe and fell in love, and she was generous enough to send it all the way from Alaska for me to shoot! There is something about wearing a mask that makes me feel transformed into an other worldly being. I crawled around for a bit meowing at the animals, and let me tell you, they were confused. - Sylva

It is a damned shame that we don’t post more images on this blog, cause sometimes it’s really hard to narrow it down :-) This is another of Rachel’s amazing headdresses, you can see her work at http://www.etsy.com/shop/PoshFairytaleCouture, it’s all over the top and magnificent and theatrical and decadent! I felt very inspired to do harlequin make-up today, which has been a long time favorite of mine. I have been painting myself like a harlequin for about 8 1/2 years now, since my first attempt on Halloween when I was 21. I love clown make-up, and quite honestly could probably do AYearAsAClown.com and never run out of ideas for that. I stared at myself in the mirror for a good 3 minutes with the water running before I accepted that I had no good reason to keep this makeup on, and washed it off. Sadly and begrudgingly :-( - Sylva
Day #27
Today was quite a day! My sleep schedule had shifted so far from normal that a couple days ago I woke up at 8pm. Seriously. A mess! Last night I went to bed at about 4 pm, and stayed asleep until today at 8am. I had a lovely morning of crafting, followed by a trip to the bike repair, then off to visit to my wonderful friend Laura (who has lead yoga class here at my house a bunch of times). She happens to live near my high school, so I got to ride my bike by there, too, which was a strangely nostalgic moment. Actually this whole weekend has been nostalgic, from getting an email from a long lost love to running into my boyfriend from a decade ago, to passing through my childhood neighborhood on the way to Laura’s, to seeing my high school, and having haunting dreams about people I never see anymore. Perhaps this accounts for the slight grump in my mood :-( By the time I got home this evening I had ridden about 25 miles on my bike and my limbs felt like jello! And I don’t even eat jello. I am a vegetarian. Sheesh. I wanted to do a super glamorous shoot for you all, as Lucky and I have been delivering a more casual photo in the past few days. The wonderfully inventive Rachel from http://www.etsy.com/shop/PoshFairytaleCouture was gracious enough to send me over a collection of her hand crafted items to shoot images of. It was fun to step outside my box a little, as I tend towards pink, orange, red and gold cause they match my hair :-) This sumptuous headdress made me feel like a showgirl ready to take on raunchy backstage adventures! - Sylva
