Day #260
Day #259
Hello life, so pleased to see you once again. You bewilder me with your seemingly cruel jokes. The most perplexing of all is the one where you rain unrelentingly down upon my parade, and when I start to think you are a cruel mistress, you reward me with a glass half full of the most magical elixir imaginable. More magical than imaginable in fact, more titillating then fathomable, more tantalizing than my memory can recall ever having been tantalized before. Thanks, you trickster. I am a fucking princess, in this snow globe of mysterious reality. - Sylva
Day #258
Once again the beautiful Caley Johnson (MissGDesigns.com) has beckoned my inner 8 year old with her mind blowing creations. My little girl self says “SPARKLES!!!!” and my big girl self says “SPARKLES” and I could not resist begging her to shoot this Dragon inspired headdress. I love love love love love it. Pretty please, with sugar on top, never stop making art, you magical woman! I am constantly baffled by her ability to make even the most eccentric of themes elegant, this Sparkle Dragon being no different. LOVE! - Sylva
Day #257
I have avoided wearing skinny jeans my entire life. Yes, you heard right, the fad has washed over me and never wet me down. I have stayed dry despite the storm of tight fitting stretch denim pants that litters the front windows of stores across America. Until… one day… drum roll please…. My friend Fargo gave me some skinny jeans for my birthday. I looked at them, in fear, imagining my child bearing hips and plump behind muffining over the top in a dramatic display of 38” hipped vulgarity. And I put them in the closet. And I waited. And I waited. And my laundry pile got higher, and my choice of pants grew slimmer. Then one day, there they were…. the last pair of pants standing. The one remaining pair in the closet, beckoning me to put my fears behind me and squash, ever so tenderly, the squishy flesh of my bum into their army green 30% spandex leg holes. And so I did. And now I love them. Perhaps the addition of a rainbow belt and $20 rainbow Target boots is partially to blame. There ain’t no going back now. Skinny jeans, here I come! - Sylva
I very enthusiastically approve this message:) - Lucky
Day #256
My most wonderful pal Tony, whose name seems to be coming up a lot these past couple weeks, was amazingly sweet enough to give me a bag of pomegranates from of his tree when he visited recently. He and Triambica (http://ecstaticawareness.com/) came to my most decadent Indian Bollywood dinner party. I have so many pomegranates I am at a loss of what to do with them all. And then, all at once, it hit me….. GET GET GET NAKED!!! - Sylva
Day #254
It was gloomy and grim outside, surely you see why Lucky and I felt the desire to run to the roof and take the new unicorn pinata along? Surely it is a most obvious choice? Surely you would have done the same? Not only did I walk into a pipe that was jutting out of the roof, I also fell while trying to prop myself up on the unicorn. Yep. That’s how graceful I am. Don’t let my clumsy exterior confuse you. We went up to the 4th floor, where the roof access is, and found that my landlords had installed yet another door to keep us out. Sigh. They really know how to make you feel welcome here. We waited a moment, about to give up, and thought perhaps we could call the other Lucky, the one who gave me my kitten, Captain Oliver. Just as we were about to come downstairs for my phone, Lucky (the other Lucky) opened the door wearing a sombrero! He asked kindly, is that a unicorn or are you just happy to see me? Then he explained the sombrero was to keep the rain off his head. Oh, my surreal life, you bring me so much laughter. - Sylva
Day #253
I have been framing some bones to put up in one of the new sets here at Pillar Box Studios and they were conveniently sitting on the floor today when Lucky came over. I really just wanted to become one with my art……. - Sylva
Day #252
A couple weeks after my birthday a surprise package arrived in the mail. I was not expecting anything but I rode my bike down to the post office and picked it up. Much to my surprise, inside I found this beautiful corset and a pair of swirly beaded Indian shoes! They were sent to me by Rant (http://www.modelmayhem.com/2271004), a most lovely model who I have had the pleasure of meeting briefly when she flew down to LA a while back. We actually traded hats, she gave me these jeweled antlers she made and I gave her something that matched her hairstyle back them. So sweet, beautiful, quirky, and creative. I kinda hoped to get some nice shots of the corset but I loved these wacky face shots so much I decided to share them with you instead. Sometime soon I will do a shoot properly showcasing the wonderful corset. Until then, my clown sidekick will show you her tattas. - Sylva
Day #251
Day #249
I remember years ago, I knew a lot of artsy young ladies and gentleman of similar ages to myself. We all aspired to do something with our art, some of us wanting to make it into careers and some people too punk rock to want to make money off of their hearts one true love. One such friend is the beautiful Roxy Contin, who knew all along she wanted to be a designer. I met her when she was making her first run of sell-able goods. Always incredibly motivated and inspired, Roxy has always been determined enough to realize her dreams, and she has an amazing way of making shit happen. This doesn’t make it easier, during the years we have known each other we have watched each other struggle, flourish, and keep on fucking trying no matter what. She came by the studio last week and gave me this super cute, cozy, comfy, bad as onesie. I LOVE IT!!! It’s soft and cottony, has a rad screen print on it, and a stylish little hood. So wonderful!!! We decided to shoot it under the fire chandelier, which Tony (https://www.facebook.com/FireGardenEvents) generously installed recently. I am so in love with my new chandelier, I love sitting under it on my round bed and chatting with friends. It’s just about the most decadent little spot I could have ever imagined having in my home! AAAAnnnd lastly, my lovely friend Alexandra Matthews (http://www.alexandra-mathews.com/) made me this super cute bone necklace, and I was delighted to get to shoot in it too!!! She wore it over here for dinner one night and I complimented, it, always a sucker for bones, and my favorite style of necklace is a bib style like the one she created. When I awoke a couple days later I realized she left it on my nightstand for me as a gift. I almost cried. It was a rough day and I was so overwhelmed with confused gratitude. I love it!!! My friends are fucking amazing. - Sylva
