Day #102
When we originally went to take these photos we had intended a nice blurry black and white image would be the result.  But then holy mother of color, the saturation of these was just too fine not to share.  And so here you have it, finely creamy orange and brown fun flirty photographs.  I have always wanted a widows peak and I think that was part of the allure of the nude image for me, fantasizing about my mane in all it’s glory with a little widows peak upon my forehead.  Why can’t I grow one?  They say you can actualize, manifest, and set an intention to acquire all that you desire, but no dimples do I have upon my face, and no witchey v upon my forehead.  Que cera, I always thought I got the long end of the stick in life, so… I will do without my little v.  But if any of you know where I can get one, do share.  I think it would complete me. - Sylva

Day #101
I know… we shouldn’t have.  But we could not resist.  I mean, you spend that much time, effort, money, and inspiration on one single application of make-up genius to one’s face, and it cannot be helped.  My inner America said…, I like to party!  I want to come to the grand granny nudie pic party too!  And so I told her, OK.  You can come.- Sylva

Day #100
For quite some time I have been fantasizing about the special disturbing wonderment we would bring you on our 100th day of  this project.  I feel a great attachment to the number 100, as I may have mentioned before.  It is often a number of days I set with personal goals, and has always held great appeal in it’s powerful use of one one and two zeros.  I knew months ago that I wanted to collaborate with the fuck off amazing makeup artist Jill Fogel (https://www.facebook.com/jillglitter) because she had told me how she knew how to work with prosthetics and special effects make up.  So when day 97 came and I finally realized that my grand grandma nudie pic party was approaching with a quickness, I wrote and hoped she would be free this afternoon to doll me up.  Are you kidding me?  She was available!  In a state of elated happiness I rode my bike to her makeup studio where she and her partner were busily creating thousands of latex prosthetics.  It was like a mad scientists warehouse full of creepy jars and suffocating smells.  I sat in her chair for a few hours, falling asleep once, eating a delicious sandwich once, and chatting about… well.. boys.  What the hell else would 3 woman stuck in a room together for 5 hours talk about?  Lucky patiently waited at the studio as I kept telling him we were almost done, but Jill was so excited she kept aging me more and more till wisps of white hair danced from my squishy bald cap and sun spots decorated my wrinkling scalp.  I was ecstatic to ride my bike home, and for the first time in the 3 years and 9 months since I moved to downtown LA, not once did I get cat-called.  NOT ONCE!  I win.  I would like to imagine the sight of my granny self darting swiftly through traffic in rush hour as bored drivers looked around the city for something to text their friends about.  I win, again!  Sigh.I am really excited.  Can you tell?  So here you have it, good granny gone bad.  Yeah sister. In all honesty when I was looking through these images it made me sad in a strange the-opposite-of-nostalgic way.  I really felt like I was looking at myself 40 years from now and it tripped me the fuck out.  Way to fuck with my own brain.  I will thank the good lord above if even one of my body parts stays in tact for that many years.  Dear god.. .are you listening? - Sylva
I don’t even know what to say about this one. It was actually quite disturbing to see in person. I might be scarred for life. Happy 100!- Lucky

Day #99
'Nough said. - Sylva
You know, I’d love to have something smart to say about the artistic merits of these photos but really… umm… yeah… that’s just nice:)
You’ll notice that is a bit of the studio that you’ve never seen in any photos before. There’s only one time I can remember that someone has shot on that particular wall. We figured this would be the perfect shot to use that background in since it wasn’t likely anyone would even realize there was a wall there at all;) - Lucky

Day #98
I am an avid user of popcorn.  I say user instead of consumer because I use it.  For happiness.  To satisfy my binge impulses.  For comfort.  It’s my vice, buttery, covered in nutritional yeast and cayenne pepper.  Never was a more savory taste sensation created to satiate the elated buds of my tongue.  Please, go eat some, it will save your soul. Church is for Sundays, popcorn… every day.  Cute little bodice created by Suzy Homewrecker of Hell on Heels Couture (https://www.facebook.com/pages/Hell-on-Heels-Couture/267482156604932)Hat by yours truly, Bubbles and Frown - Sylva

Day #97
Leave it to Lucky to find a silly way to get me dirty!
Cleaning up after my festival weekend…  Putting away hats, cleaning dust from mannequin heads, on my 6th load of laundry,  getting ready for a grand ol’ mopping festival of my own.  LIB may be fun, but the cleaning festival is a secondary part of all camping vacations, and that is the one I am currently at.Lucky is packing to move, so the house is in an extra special state of disarray.  I don’t mean that Lucky is messy, cause he actually isn’t, and you really can’t even tell he is moving.  But rather than re-organize right now, I am stacking all my stuff in the back of the house and preparing to transition my craft room into his old bedroom. I am quite excited I will have a place to close the door and work when people rent the studio, and also quite excited that I will be able to close the door and have all my work “done” at the end of the day.  Right now my craft room is in an open area at the back of the warehouse, as well as my hat display area.  So it will be nice to “get off” of work and put that part of my day quietly tucked away and invisible :-)  The large area where I currently craft is about 18 x 20 feet wide, and I am planning on painting it all white and leaving it nice and open for photographers to use. I think that will be a nice addition to the studio!!  I may put up fake brick on the less visible wall,  once I see if it is financially feasible!  You are all probably reading this like “um hello Sylva you just said Lucky is moving out then skipped right on to your decorating plans~!”  It’s true, I kinda kicked you all in the shins and then pretended it didn’t happen!  Now to dress your wounds….

Lucky has acquired a new home.  It is sad, cause we have had a lot of good adventures here, and he is a wonderful friend to me and well suited roomie.  Lots of wonderful photo adventures, spontaneous shenanigans, and picnics where we don’t share food have happened in these four walls, and for that I feel quite Lucky (pun intended!)  But like all change, it is also good!  Our project will continue, and you will still be showered with new photos and get to share our artistic lives with us!  So don’t fret, times they are a changin’, but all for the better!
Sneeze. - SylvaIt’s true, I’m just not a Downtown LA kinda guy;)

Among the amazingly talented, proactive, creative, inspiring people in my life is Peter, the creator and designer at Shrine Clothing (http://shrinestore.com/) (https://www.facebook.com/pages/Shrine-of-Hollywood/250768521625678).  As I have mentioned, I love love love creative people.  They speak my language.  Not only is Peter full of infinite ideas for  new bad ass clothing, he is also responsible and smart.  A lotta people can sew a cool skirt, but not everyone can have it sold in stores across the country.  I really admire that quality in him.  He has always been so kind to me, since 11 years ago when my boyfriend worked in his shop on Melrose until now.  He even shot some of his catalog in my place, which was so flattering!  OK, OK…. enough marshmallow fluff, you get the idea… he is rad.  His clothing is rad.  His partner Rhonda is rad.  Tommy, who works at the warehouse and also DJ’s at Bar Sinister (https://www.facebook.com/ClubBarSinister), is rad.  AND his girlfriend is rad.  They had actually sold out of this outfit but when I asked that I could shoot it she lent me hers to incorporate in this shoot.  THANK YOU!!!!

Speaking of Bar Sin, me and Stephanie of Miyu Decay (http://www.etsy.com/shop/MiyuDecay) are going tonight after we vend at Bats Day (https://www.facebook.com/batsdayinthefunpark).  So come shake your booty to Bella Lugosi and drink sparkling cranberry juice with me!  Yeah!!!Headdress made by yours truly, Bubbles And Frown
